Context
Balyo develops autonomous robots for logistics warehouses. Their fleet management system — Robot Manager and its HMI — was the critical middleware handling everything from traffic control to customer WMS integration.
Role
As an apprentice integrated into a team of six engineers, I contributed to the maintenance and evolution of two core applications: Robot Manager (the backend server) and Robot Manager Interface (the HMI).
Contributions
Working within the engineering team, the work covered:
- Traffic management for robot fleets on warehouse floors
- Statistics and KPI generation
- Robot communication protocols (TCP, radio, Wi-Fi)
- Integration with customers’ Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Bug fixes and feature additions on both applications
